Solving the heat problems: How silicon photonics is redefining thermal efficiency in data centers

Read DCD Magazine's industry interview with Adam Carter CEO

Rising power densities and cooling demands are putting increasing pressure on data center efficiency and scalability.

In a recent article published in DatacenterDynamics, OpenLight’s CEO Adam Carter highlights how silicon photonics is helping address these challenges by enabling optical interconnects that reduce heat generation and power consumption while supporting higher bandwidth and compute density.

By shifting from electrical to optical data transmission, silicon photonics offers a path to lower energy per bit, reduced cooling requirements, and more sustainable data center architectures.
